UK Surgeons Invited to Showcase Skills at Arab Health 2025

Topic : Type : Briefing

UK practicing surgeons are being presented with a remarkable opportunity to showcase their skills at Arab Health 2025, the largest healthcare event in the Middle East, held in Dubai from January 27 to 30, 2025. The event is a global stage for healthcare innovation, drawing over 130,000 attendees from 163 countries.

As part of the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) UK Pavilion, the Surgical Simulation Theatre will serve as the central hub for innovation and skill demonstration, offering UK surgeons the chance to demonstrate their expertise and cutting-edge techniques to a worldwide audience. This platform has a history of highlighting groundbreaking technologies and attracting global attention, making it an invaluable opportunity for surgeons looking to make their mark on the international healthcare scene.

Highlights of Previous Activities at the UK Pavilion

The UK Pavilion has long been a showcase for cutting-edge medical technology and surgical advancements. At Arab Health 2020, FundamentalVR presented a unique virtual reality training tool that uses haptic technology to deliver immersive simulations. This platform, Fundamental Surgery, allows surgeons to fully rehearse medical and surgical procedures, while gathering deep data insights into competency and skill development.

The same year, Professor Shafi Ahmed explored the metaverse's capabilities and its potential to revolutionise surgical education. Additionally, audiences witnessed a fascinating fireside chat between Professor Ahmed, former NASA astronaut Scott Parazynski, and Henry Pinchbeck, CEO and Co-Founder of 3D LifePrints, where they discussed the intersection of healthcare, space exploration, and 3D printing.

Live surgical procedures have also been a feature of the Pavilion, such as a robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS) lower lobectomy and lymph node dissection performed by Consultant Thoracic Surgeon Tom Routledge from Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London. The Pavilion’s fully functional, simulated operating theatre is designed to provide a hands-on experience of the latest surgical innovations.

Why You Should Participate in Arab Health 2025

Participating in Arab Health 2025 offers UK surgeons a platform to:

  • Gain Global Exposure: Perform in front of healthcare professionals and industry leaders from across the globe.
  • Be at the Center of Innovation: Demonstrate your skills in the Surgical Simulation Theatre, a key attraction at the UK Pavilion.
  • Foster Professional Growth: Connect with peers, experts, and potential collaborators from over 160 countries.

As past participants like Dr. Robin Chatterjee of HCA Healthcare have found, Arab Health offers an unparalleled networking opportunity:

"Attending Arab Health has been greatly beneficial for me. It has allowed me to network with both local UK-based potential patients and also with a foreign market. I was able to showcase some of the procedures I provide for patients and this enabled me to network with various organizations. I would highly recommend any clinician who wants to increase their 'brand awareness' to go out there and represent themselves or their organisation."
