General Election Sees ABHI Position HealthTech for Success
Topic : News and Press Type : Briefing
With a general election set for 4th July, we are now at a pivotal moment for HealthTech.
At ABHI, we have been preparing extensively, engaging with members, healthcare and technology stakeholders, and political parties, to ensure that, regardless of the next Government's composition, we are well-positioned to represent the industry's needs effectively.
Earlier this month, we launched The Plan for HealthTech (P4HT), outlining the steps necessary for the UK to become a world leader in the evaluation, development, and deployment of HealthTech. In the build up to the launch and subsequently, we have engaged heavily with key figures from the main political parties, and had our most recent discussions on our proposals with health teams on all sides just this week.
There has never been a more crucial time to fully realise the potential of HealthTech to benefit patients, clinicians, and our economy, and I am pleased that currently all sides acknowledge that and the need to work collectively to do so.
The campaign for the P4HT continues and template letters to send to your constituency MPs and candidates are available upon request should you wish to support. Alongside this, our member group, ABHI Public Affairs, will be using the next six weeks to further refine the detailed policy positions supporting the manifesto. Members are very much welcome to join the Group's next meeting on 17th June.
As the political parties' election campaigns now begin in earnest, we will also be providing further updates on what to expect from a new government and we will be closely analysing their manifestos as they are released.
