Biography & Career
Graeme took up the position of CEO at Pennine Healthcare in 2021, at the beginning of our Employee-Ownership journey. Pennine Healthcare is a UK-based manufacturer, assembler, and packager of medical devices for both own brand and contract manufacturing and operates from their headquarters in Derby. From their 150,000 square-foot facility, they support healthcare systems in more than 50 countries worldwide.
Before joining Pennine Healthcare, Graeme served as the Managing Director of B. Braun Avitum and held leadership positions as the Head of the B. Braun Hospital Care Division & Veterinary Division. In these roles, Graeme oversaw functions spanning sales, marketing, and manufacturing. Additionally, he was on the B. Braun UK Group Board, Executive Committee, and Global Network Teams.
Beyond his role at Pennine Healthcare, Graeme Chair's the ABHI Commercial Policy Group. This group is dedicated to advancing value-based procurement within the NHS, aiming to leverage technology and innovation for enhanced patient outcomes. Furthermore, Graeme serves as the chair of the Advisory Panel of the Derby County Community Trust Princes’ Trust SCORE programme, which focuses on assisting young people in entering careers within Health and Social Care. He also sits on the University of Derby Business, Law & Social Sciences Advisory Board with a focus on healthcare.
In addition to the above responsibilities, Graeme serves as the Vice-Chair of the NHS England SME Advisory Group. This group is committed to fostering improved engagement, communication, and collaboration with the SME community. Its overarching aim is to encourage greater participation of SMEs in commercial activities, leveraging their innovation capabilities for the betterment of patients and the NHS.
He holds two degrees, one from the University of Aberdeen and a Master’s in Business Administration (EMBA) from the University of Leeds. Currently, Graeme is studying for his Turnaround Management Association (TMA) qualifications.
Graeme is married to Nav, and has two children, Rohan, and Asha. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, and sport with a priority on health and wellness.
