HealthTech Savvy
Are you HealthTech Savvy?
Did you know that:
- With 121,900 employees, HealthTech is the largest employer in the Life Sciences
- HealthTech is broad and diverse, incorporating implants, single use devices, capital equipment, instruments, digital health, diagnostics and robot-assisted surgery
- In 2017 alone, the NHS conducted nearly 200,000 hip and knee replacement procedures, implanted over 60,000 cardiac devices and provided nearly 400,000 cataract operations
- In the last year alone, the digital health sector grew 11%
- HealthTech is crucial in the treatment of a number of chronic and life threatening conditions including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes.
As part of ABHI's HealthTech Savvy campaign we are calling upon MPs to engage with their local Trusts to see first-hand how health technologies are improving the lives of their constituents.
After launching the campaign at ABHI's 2019 Annual Parliamentary Reception, where 10 MPs pledged to become HealthTech Savvy, Members are encouraged to work with their local MP to secure their pledge to the campaign.
For more information and how you can engage with your local MP, please contact Ellie at eleanor.charlsey@abhi.org.uk
