ABHI & CPI Announce £7 Million Funding from Innovate UK for HealthTech SMEs

We are delighted to announce a new £7 million Health Technology Regulatory and Innovation Programme, a joint initiative by ABHI and CPI, funded by Innovate UK, that will support HealthTech SMEs to navigate new regulatory processes A press release is available here.
The programme, which opens for applications on 14th February 2022, and closes at 12:00, 31st May 2022, will operate a rolling call, allowing for weekly review and distribution of funding. Up to £30,000 is available for each SME to spend with UK, European or global regulatory affairs providers in activities such as global submission support and preparation, technical road mapping, and guidance on regulatory standards.
This series of work is a continuation of our MoU partnership with CPI, who are a leading innovation organisation, and founding member of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult. By pooling our collective expertise, and the resources of Innovate UK, our intention is to support multiple SMEs with their regulatory requirements.
The work will also see ABHI develop a landscape report on the SME sector and a series of roundtables with partners looking at the challenges facing SMEs, as well as supporting wider elements of the programme, including bespoke training on regulations.
Key Details
- Applications for the funding open on 14th February 2022 and close on 31st May 2022, with submissions reviewed on a weekly basis and awards made on a first-come, first-served basis.
- To apply, SMEs should visit the programme website.
- The funding is offered to SMEs developing or offering products in the medical device and diagnostics area, including in-vitro diagnostics.
