ABHI Joins Trade Secretary's Life Sciences Trade Advisory Group
Topic : International Type : Press Release
International Trade Secretary Liz Truss has today (26th August 2020) launched 11 new trade advisory groups (TAGs), as part of an engagement drive with industry designed to support the UK’s trade negotiations. ABHI is pleased to announce that it has been invited join the Life Sciences TAG. Further details are available here.
The forum will provide a blend of strategic and technical expertise to inform matters pertinent to our industry as part of the broader negotiating position. Global alignment on regulation, and the timely movement of goods, will be key, with both areas central to our extensive work on trade to date.
Today’s announcement is testament to the relationships ABHI has built within the Department of International Trade to position HealthTech as a key aspect of future UK prosperity. HealthTech, which remains UK Life Sciences largest employer, continues to grow and accelerate, with the global market set to reach $529.8bn by 2022. The opportunity to ensure our industry has a strong voice in these negotiations is therefore apparent.
ABHI look forward to updating members on the progress of this work.
