The Week in HealthTech: 27/07/2020
I am pleased to report on a very positive round table engagement that was held with senior NHS leadership last week.
The meeting was an opportunity to highlight examples of safe restart activities from around the world, with a view to these being adopted by the NHS as it looks to kick-start elective activity that was paused due to the pandemic.
NHS England expressed their thanks for the information provided, recognising that a collaborative effort was needed to tackle the elective back-lock, and to bring capacity back up to pre-COVID levels. Patient communications, operational efficiency and the use of technology will all be critical to this. As such, NHS England are developing a list of 'everyday problems' that require HealthTech products and services to overcome them, and details will be shared with Members accordingly.
Further details on the meeting can be read here.
We now have an important foundation for an ongoing dialogue with the health service, and crucially, the NHS wants this conversation.
