Government Announces Contracts for Post-Brexit HealthTech Delivery Service
The Government has today announced the contracts that will support its new Express Freight Service, designed to ensure the delivery of vital products within 24-48 hours to meet any urgent needs, post-Brexit. Read more here.
The contracts have been awarded to UPS, DFDS and Biocair. The service will enable the NHS to have access to next day delivery on small consignments, including temperature controlled or hazardous products, 48-hour delivery for larger loads, and access to specialist services, including hand delivered courier services if needed.
Members can also expect a letter from the DHSC next week providing further detail on the National Supply Disruption Response (NSDR) system. Its process will monitor the supply situation and co-ordinate actions to address disruption incidents where normal procedures are unable to provide a resolution.
