LRQA Withdraws Services, Whilst EU Holds Firm on Compliance Dates
Notified body LRQA has announced its withdrawal of services relating to the MDD and IVDD and has also confirmed that it will not become a notified body for the new MDR and IVDR. Read more.
All LRQA clients have been informed directly, and the Notified Body is working with the MHRA to transfer companies to an alternative service provider. ABHI will be in regular communication with the MHRA throughout this process in order to support members.
Last week, the European Commission issued a new communication on the “State of play of preparations" as to the UK's departure from the European Union, which included an update on the notified body situation (see page 5).
The Commission acknowledged that significant work will still be required to achieve full compliance by 31 October 2019, but believes that the extension of the Article 50(3) until this date provides sufficient time to complete both the transfer of certificates and the adaptation of product labels.
It is therefore advised that you speak to your notified body as a matter of urgency to ensure that your products are not disadvantaged.
