Why join ABHI in Texas?
Giovanna Forte, CEO, Forte Medical, has attended four ABHI trade missions. In this feature, we asked Giovanna to provide some insight as to why UK HealthTech companies should take advantage of the Texas opportunity.
ABHI: What is it about the US, and specifically Texas, that makes the market so important for HealthTech companies?
Giovanna: "Texas displays a vibrant and positive attitude towards the need for preventative technologies and the right HealthTech that can help introduce and accelerate the adoption of preventive clinical practice. The Texas attitude to innovation is very open, with a willingness to collaborate in evaluation that could lead to much improved clinical methods and outcomes."
ABHI: What are your key objectives for Texas and how did the ABHI mission match up to these targets?
Giovanna: "For Forte Medical, Texas is the landing place for our technology and the potential source of collaboration into the development of new and digital devices. Adoption in Texas will be a springboard for the rest of the USA; with regional HQs of some of the largest US healthcare providers in Texas, it makes sense to test-bed not only our technology, but strategy for sales, marketing and further R&D here."
ABHI: From the recent Texas mission, what was the single biggest success for your company?
Giovanna: "Meetings with some of the most influential decision makers from major healthcare providers, leading to valuable clinical trials with people who are genuinely keen to improve diagnostic outcomes; presenting to clinical researchers with an interest in urine-based medicine; meeting consultants who can assist with 'translating' our sales and marketing techniques into language and data that will make sense to our potential US customers."
ABHI: Would you recommend other companies join one of ABHI's missions to Texas?
