ABHI Welcomes the New Secretary of State for Health and Social Care
For the first time in a number of years, we have the opportunity to welcome a new Secretary of State to the Department of Health. A brief profile of Matthew Hancock, who was appointed yesterday, is available here.
Matt joins the Department at a challenging, yet exciting time. The NHS is producing a new 10-year plan to sit alongside a long-term funding commitment, NHS England and NHS Improvement have embarked on a closer working relationship to provide a single system leader, and the move towards integrated care systems continues apace.
We have written to the Secretary of State welcoming him and reaffirming our support for the work of his department.
