Government Issues Brexit Technical Notice for HealthTech
The government has today issued the first wave of its technical papers that provide guidance to companies in the event of a no-deal Brexit scenario. Following extensive discussions, the announcements relevant to HealthTech are consistent with industry's needs, outlined in HotEU. ABHI are pleased to see government's ambition to maintain regulatory alignment on day one. More information can be found here.
However, whilst these papers are a positive step, work remains to ensure the continued supply to patients. For this reason, we will continue to enagage with the government, MHRA and within Europe, to make sure disruption is limited. We have been working with a number of European countries so that negotiators on both sides are aware and understand our position.
The Department of Health and Social Care has also issued this letter outlining plans for increased engagement in coming weeks. Members are encouraged to revisit our Brexit checklist, which remains applicable.
Whilst negotiations are ongoing, we will continue to work to understand your concerns, provide guidance for your business and ensure government are aware of the implications for industry.
